I am a representational painter living in Shelburne Falls, MA. From 2008 to 2010, I studied in New York at the Art Students League and National Academy of Design with Gregg Kreutz, Mary Beth McKenzie, Max Ginsburg and Sam Adoquei, among others.
I work from life, painting in a direct, or Alla Prima, manner. I am chiefly concerned with the craft of painting, focusing on questions of color and compositional harmony, and methods of achieving depth, luminosity and atmosphere. My work aspires to carry on the aesthetic traditions of the American Impressionists, who pursued realism and beauty, but with spontaneity and technical flourish.
